Since 1979 Paul Gover has been a full-time motoring writer, road tester and industry commentator. He is now the ageing statesman of the Australian motoring press, not a title he necessarily enjoys.
His career has included work as a newspaper reporter, magazine editor and in public relations, as well as commentating on motoring issues for both radio and television. He is now relishing the new challenges of the digital world, as well as the unique insights provided by a 12-year-old son.
As many as 5 million people read his work each week and he still smiles at the prospect of a new car or a scoop story.
He hung up his racing helmet after a long string of race and rally wins, including a national championship and racing a V8 Supercar in the Bathurst 1000, including time as a factory driver in Australia with Toyota, Ferrari, Ford, Fiat, Volkswagen and Proton
