McCormick moved from AutoWeek to Ward's Auto World and then became an independent auto writer in 1992. Today, McCormick is one of the leading United States-based international automotive writers, contributing to publications in every major market around the world. In Europe, McCormick contributes to leading consumer automotive newspapers and magazines in every major market - Top Gear in the UK, Die Welt and Auto Zeitung in Germany, L'Automobile in France, Gente Motori in Italy and Autopista in Spain. In the Pacific Rim region, McCormick is the United States editor for Driver magazine in Japan and contributes to the Sydney Morning Herald in Australia.
