LUCA CIFERRI | Associate Publisher and Editor Automotive News Europe Luca Ciferri was named editor of Automotive News Europe in June 2012. In this role he directs the European editorial team of 10 reporters and editors in France, Germany, Italy, Ireland and United Kingdom. From January 2017, Mr. Ciferri also serves as Automotive News Europe associate publisher, directly coordinating a number of annual events, including its annual Congress and Rising Starts award program each summer. Mr. Ciferri joined Automotive News as Italy correspondent in September 1988 and was part of the team that started Automotive News Europe in February 1996. As a reporter he covered firstly Italian and then European beats, such as Ferrari, Fiat/FCA, Audi, BMW, PSA Group and Renault, as well as the Design Valley around Turin. Mr. Ciferri joined Crain Communications after 9 years of freelance reporting for automotive and business publications in Australia, Brazil, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, United States as well as in many European countries. Mr. Ciferri, born in Canada by Italian parents, bears a dual Canadian and Italian citizenship and studied Mathematics at the Pavia University, Italy. In 1989 he was awarded the Giuseppe d'Adda journalistic prize by the Association of Car Importers in Italy (UNRAE) in the daily newspaper category. In 2015, he received the US Motor Press Guild Award in the feature article category. Mr. Ciferri speaks Italian, English and some French. He lives in Villastellone, near Turin where, in his very scarce spare time, he likes to cycle. |
